Your generation is enduring countless world-wide struggles...from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to the mass-murders in Darfur. Your generation is coping with country-wide problems...from terrorist attacks to school killings. Your generation is dealing with community-wide problems...from crime to drugs to everyday struggles at school. Why do I say all this? Because this world has nothing for you! You must fully rely on God -- the creator of the universe. You need to be humble enough to say, "I need you, Jesus." You see, these world-wide struggles will either end or new ones will arise. These country-wide problems will happen all the time. These community-wide issues may or may not always be there. However, one thing is certain -- Jesus will be. So seek His help.

Here at First Baptist Church Blue Ridge, we believe not only are our students the future of our Church and the surrounding community of Blue Ridge...but that they can be the leaders in the current culture as well!
Now, how are we going to accomplish this? What is our plan? What are our goals?
We have two explanations...you can choose the one that makes the most sense to you:
For the Super Spiritual Nerds
it goes something like this: Our goal is spiritual formation in Christ, which is the process by which one moves and is moved from self-worship and self-adulation to Christ-centered self-denial as a general condition of life in God's present and eternal kingdom.
For the Plain Folks
is goes something like this: We want to know Christ and to make Him known. Let's break that down to a good chicken nugget sized piece of truth! We believe that God has given His people some very clear instructions, which apply to people of all ages. These instructions are found in Matthew 28:19-20 where He instructs us to "go and make disciples." Therefore, we will be seek to accomplish the following:
- Sharing the message of Christ
- Growing in our relationship with Christ
- Becoming leaders of influence for Christ
We believe that through our purpose driven, relevant, Biblical programming and significant accountable relationships we can accomplish our goal of making disciples of all nations, becoming fully maturing followers of Christ, and becoming leaders within our Church, our City, our County, and so forth. Sitting on the sidelines is always a choice you can make...why don't you choose instead to come join us and be a part of something bigger than yourself! We double-dog-dare-ya!
